ADOPT-A-FAMILY:
"Adopts" families in transition needing temporary financial assistance and support to
get back on their feet. The adopted families are also taken under AAF's wing at Easter
and Christmas.

ALTAR GUILD:
Help prepare the altar for weekend liturgies. They usually meet Friday mornings
Coordinator: Ann Carroll
Time Commitment: 1 hour/week
ALTAR SERVERS:
6th through 8th grade students are trained to assist at weekend Masses.

Time Commitment: Serve at a mass once every three weeks
BROWN BAG LUNCHES:
Volunteers make 10 brown bag lunches each on a rotational basis so that a total of 100
lunches are delivered to the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room every Sunday by regular
volunteer drivers.
Coordinator: Maryellen Polakov Dahnehy
Time Commitment: Make sandwiches once a month; twice a month, or as a substitute
and bring them to church by 11am Sunday. Drivers are also needed to deliver the
sandwiches.
CHOIRS:
Assist the congregation in Mass participation
Adult Choir
Coordinator: Maryliz Smith (453-2342, ml@maryliz.com)
Time Commitment: Sing at Mass twice a month and on special feasts, Mass times
vary, rehearsals are held in the church on Thursday evenings.
Childrens' Choir
Coordinator: Debra Chambliss (454-8667 x41)
Time Commitment: Sing at the 9am Mass , usually twice a month during the school
year. Rehearsals are held the Thursday afternoons preceding the Mass
Men's & Women's Scholas
Coordinator: Janice Clark
Time Commitment: Practice Tuesday evenings in the church. The Schola sings on
major feasts and other Sundays.
CURSILLO:
A "Cursillo de Christiandad" is simply a short course in Christian living. A typical
Cursillo weekend is attended by about 40-60 people. Christians of all denominations are
welcome.

EXTRADORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION:
(Eucharistic Ministers)
Assist in distributing the Eucharist at the weekend Masses

EXTRADORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION
FOR THE HOMEBOUND:
Bring the Blessed Sacrament to those unable to come to church

Time Commitment: Generally once a week, although the specific time commitment
varies as some parishioners are only visited once a month. In addition we have a team
of visitors who visit the Kentfield Rehab Center and Bella Residential Home.
FOOD AND CLOTHING DRIVES:
St. Anselm's holds two food drives and one clothing drive a year. The food drives are
coordinated to occur during Advent and Lent. The clothing drive occurs in early winter
when warm clothes are greatly needed. The clothing is delivered to the Ritter Center.

Time Commitment: 3 times year assist with the drives
GRIEF MINISTRY:
Our program offers support to families experiencing the loss of a loved one; coordinates
an annual bereavement retreat; and hosts the Memorial Mass in November.

HANDICAPABLES:
Handicapables meeting-lunches with Mass on the fourth Saturday of every month,
giving an opportunity for the physically or mentally challenged to gather. Our
volunteers host the luncheon several times a year.

HEALTH MINISTRY:
Health Ministry arranges various health care events at the church.

HELPING HANDS:
Helping Hands is a ministry created to act as helping hands to those needing a little
assistance. Parishioners needing a visit, a ride to church, or a hot meal delivered during
a time of need can call the Helping Hands hotline (453-7466) and all efforts will be
made to accommodate the request.

LITURGY OF THE WORD FOR CHILDREN:
8th Grade students and adults guide our 4-7 year old parishioners in understanding
God's love during the Liturgy of the Word at 9am Masses during the school year.

MARIN ORGANIZING COMMITTEE - ST. ANSELM'S TEAM:
Volunteers work within the parish and larger community to highlight areas of concern
in the political arena.

MAIL MINISTERS:
Assists staff to prepare mailings

Time Commitment: 4 hours/mailing
"MONEY COUNTERS":
Volunteers prepare the weekend offertory for bank deposit

Time Commitment: 2-3 hours on a Monday morning once a month
RCIA/RCIC SPONSORS:
Volunteers guide those interested in becoming members of the Catholic Church.

Time Commitment: Meet with the candidates periodically during the year preceding
their reception into the Church.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHERS:
Volunteers can teach or assist at classes for grade school, middle school or in the high
school Confirmation program

Time Commitment: Grade school classes meet Sundays (10:15-11:15AM); Middle

meets Sunday evenings twice a month during the school year.
RESPECT LIFE COMMITTEE:
Promotes Pro-Life programs in our parish.

Time Commitment: Meet on the 1st Thurs. of each month & special activities.
SHELTER DINNERS:
Volunteers make 50 hot meals once a month for the residents at Homeward Bound, a
housing facility for people in transition.
Coordinators: Leslie Hutchinson and Judy King-De Surville
Time Commitment: Volunteers usually are paired with others to help prepare a meal
once or twice a year.
SOCIAL JUSTICE:
The Social Justice program welcomes and initiates discussion of social justice issues in
the world.

Time Commitment: Variable depending on issues being addressed
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL:
Our volunteers make home visits to residents in need who are referred through the
parish or St. Vincent de Paul's Vincentian Desk. Financial assistance, provided by a
special collection on the 5th Sunday of the month and by other donations, is given for
expenses such as rent and PG&E bills.

Time Commitment: Monthly meeting and as needed
SUNDAY COFFEE:
Volunteers prepare the coffee and set out the cookies after the 9am Mass.

Time Commitment: Prepare and serve coffee and juice one Sunday a month
YLI:
Young Ladies Institute meets monthly for spiritual and social activities.
